Our 30-Day Giving Challenge starts on Friday, November 24, as we aim to close the gap in our budget. This campaign is an opportunity to complete our relaunch and step into 2024, ready to live out our mission and vision in new and exciting ways.

If you believe in the mission of Southeast, we invite you to give today.

Your giving is a tangible expression of your support of the mission and vision of Southeast; you believe in what happens here. Your giving provides the financial means for our church to join in with what God is doing within and through our church community as we impact our local community, city, and world. Your giving is an expression of your faith, using the resources God has provided you to be used for good in this world.

GENERAL GIVING FAQ

Why give?

Each of us decides where to spend our time and money. Each of us will either invest it in some purpose or waste it on the pleasures of the moment. Jesus said that there is an eternal investment that will not fade, rust or decay when we do good works that show our love for God and others (Matthew 6:19-20).

There are people who invest in The Southeast Project because they believe that what is happening here matters. We are inviting you to be part of what we are doing in our community.

Your generosity is vital to what we do because it enables us to live out our mission of connecting disconnected people to God and to each other and gives us the resources to impact our community. But giving is more than about being generous to the church. The scriptures say that God loves a cheerful giver, not because the church’s needs are met, but because God’s heart is made glad when we depend on him to provide for us.

Where does the money go when I give?

God provides for the ministry of Southeast through your tithes and offerings. We honor your gifts with faithful stewardship, ethical business practices, and full accountability so that the financial integrity of Southeast remains beyond reproach. Your faithful giving provides for our staff, facility rental, outreach events, kid’s ministry and everything in between. We can’t do ministry without you.

What happens when I give?

We believe giving is more than a financial transaction. Giving has an effect on our hearts. To learn more, read our “What Happens When You Give” document.

What about tithing?

Tithing, giving 10% of your income to support the mission and vision of the church, is a guardrail, a tangible expression of putting God first in our lives, as you walk your journey of following Jesus.

Giving 10% of your income to your church can be a big – and often frightening – commitment! To help those who have never tithed to learn to lean into the spiritual guardrail of tithing, we invite to to take the 7-30-90 Challenge.

Step 1 [7]: Tithe (give 10% on one week’s income)

Step 2 [30]: Trust in God and tithe your income through the entire month.

Step 3 [90]: Continue your faith journey and trust God to enable you to continue tithing for three months.

After each step, we encourage you to reflect and pray about how you see God working in your life as you tangibly put your trust in Him.

For an overview of the principal of tithing, we have also created a short document called A Simple Guide to Tithing.

What if I change banks or want to adjust the date or amount of a contribution?

You can edit or delete a scheduled contribution at any time, including the bank routing number, account number, date, fund, frequency and amount.

Is online giving secure?

We’ve taken steps to ensure that the giving process is safe and secure from beginning to end. We utilize a professional, secure, third-party vendor to handle the transactions. By utilizing this service, all of your giving data is secured by SSL encryption. SSL is an acronym for “Secure Socket Layer,” a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the Internet. It is the same technology used by banks that keeps your information safe and secure during transactions.

What if I want to give with a check through the mail?

We have a post office box that we check every week. If you send in a check to our post office box, it will be applied to our weekly offering and you will receive a giving credit statement at the end of the year just like with online giving. You can send checks to P.O. Box 17526 Indianapolis, IN 46217.

What is your policy regarding designated funds?

During the general course of ministry, donors will occasionally give to the Church with a designation for the gift, commonly referred to as Designated or Restricted Funds. It is the intent of the Church to fulfill the request of the donor when possible; however, the Governance Board, with a quorum present and a majority vote, may remove any designation or restriction on gifts when the Governance Board deems it in the best interest of the Church to do so. More details are in our Designated Fund Policy that was approved by our Governance Board.
